From time to time, I run across things that require a little more examiniation. The results of my investigations get put into a "white paper". Sometimes the things I have to say are recommendations of a product or suite of products. Other times, my remarks are something less than flattering to the product(s) reviewed.
I have included a list of software that I have found to be useful. The list includes utilities of various types, and software. The list includes brief descriptions and usually pointers to the vendor.
In all cases, my comments are aimed at what is
best for my employers. My recommendations or comdemnations are based on
what I believe to serve the best interests of Carnegie Mellon University,
the Business Affiars division, and ACIS as a department. Your situation
and environment are different, so your needs and expecations should be
different as well.
