We presently make use of CA/Ingres. Actually, we've been using Ingres since it was Relational Technology, Inc, then RTI, then Ingres, then ASK/Ingres and now CA/Ingres. We've probably seen and done some truly bizarre things over the years.
With that much experience, we have a number of firsts. To the best of my knowledge, we were the first production
implementation of Ingres/Star, back in the late 1980's. We've used QUEL, SQL, embedded C, COBOL, Pascal and Fortran.
Some of our applications were written in embedded I don't think there's much, if any, QUEL in place any more. We standardized on SQL quite a while back.
For interactive applications, we use ABF or third party front end tools. At present, we're using Uniface a fair bit to
provide desktop support over the net for Macintoshs and Intel based machines.
