Bruce E. Golightly -> Work -> Ingres

We presently make use of CA/Ingres. Actually, we've been using Ingres since it was Relational Technology, Inc, then RTI, then Ingres, then ASK/Ingres and now CA/Ingres. We've probably seen and done some truly bizarre things over the years.

With that much experience, we have a number of firsts. To the best of my knowledge, we were the first production implementation of Ingres/Star, back in the late 1980's. We've used QUEL, SQL, embedded C, COBOL, Pascal and Fortran. Some of our applications were written in embedded to provide creative and functional solutions to problems that QBF, Report-Writer, RBF and ABF couldn't do (at least at the time).

I don't think there's much, if any, QUEL in place any more. We standardized on SQL quite a while back.

For interactive applications, we use ABF or third party front end tools. At present, we're using Uniface a fair bit to provide desktop support over the net for Macintoshs and Intel based machines.
