Alumni/Development Systems
(ADVANCE)
ACIS supports all major Donor tracking and solicitation activities for the Alumni and Development Offices. We have implemented the Business Systems Research (BSR) software package, ADVANCE, to support the functions of Telemarketing, Prospect Tracking and Reporting, Gift Processing, Gift History, Alumni and Donor maintainance and Solicitation history.
ADVANCE is a Cobol/RMS system with both online and batch functions. We have also implemented an Ingres-based query and reporting database to add additional functionality to the purchased software package. Currently, both the ADVANCE system and the query database reside on a vax cluster and support approximately 70 customers in the central Alumni and Development Offices and at the college level.
Soon, the Development Office and ACIS will begin implementing the newest version of the ADVANCE system, a client/server application written in Powerbuilder that will run against a Sybase database on a Sequent S2000/490. The implementation is expected to begin in August 1995 and be completed by early 1997.
